About Us

Coming Home Rescue was formed in August, 2009. We are an all volunteer, non profit organization focused on helping homeless animals in shelters throughout New Jersey.  Not one person in the organization gets any form of salary or compensation. Our "paychecks" are seeing wonderful animals in homes that love them, spoil them and treat them as cherished family members.

Through the teamwork of compassionate volunteers, foster families, local veterinarians and boarding facilities, we rescue hundreds of animals every year, providing them with food, lodging, medical care and lots of love until we can find each one of them a well-matched new "home for a lifetime." We also serve as a resource to our neighbors by participating in community events and providing education and information on responsible pet ownership and promoting spay/neuter programs.

It is estimated that approximately 38,000 animals were euthanized in the state of New Jersey last year alone. Coming Home Rescue is dedicated to reducing that number by rescuing and rehoming as many dogs from these shelters as possible.

We have saved over 1,000 dogs since starting in 2009.
